Heeia Stream Clean up: March 20
It’s time again for another workday at the He’eia Stream Restoration Project! We will continue to clear the near stream area of brush and weeds to prepare it for future out planting with native Hawaiian plant species. At the January workday over 60 volunteers worked for 4 hours to clear a large slope near the stream. Their hard work is featured on this month’s flyer. Please wear long pants and good shoes/boots/tabis that you don’t mind getting wet or muddy. You may also want to bring a refillable water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, gloves, insect repellant, change of clothes, towel, good energy, and a smile. Directions & Parking: Driving on Kahekili Hwy., turn mauka onto Kahuhipa Street. Turn left onto Kuneki Street. Continue up Kuneki, road will bend to the right, keeping going until the end. Turn right onto Ha’iku Road. On your left, look for dirt driveway and park down there or along upper Ha’iku Road. DO NOT PARK IN THE RESIDENTIAL AREA. Community workdays are held on every 3rd Saturday of each month from 8am - 12pm. Feel free to come when you can and leave when you wish. Future He’eia Stream Restoration Dates for 2010 are:
    March 20
