The Star Marlin Lure unique head design is like no other, creating the kind of "smoke trails" that are irresistibly attractive to Marlin.
SuperStar - 1.5" head diameter, 13 inch length, 8 oz., unrigged
Star - 1" head diameter, 11 inch length, 4 oz., unrigged
We have
incorporated a specially engineered internal sound chamber
into our 13-inch Superstar model. The rattle sound produced
by the kinetic sound chamber allows the lure to emulate the
sound of injured or distressed baitfish. When rigged with
double 10/0 hooks and 1-1/2 ounces of weight (egg sinker under
the skirt before the hooks), this lure has both the action
and sound for ultimate marlin attraction. The 13-inch Superstar
lure is designed to be used for all species of Marlin, but
has been successful when used as a teaser as well.
All Star Lures and Star Marlin Lures are manufactured in the USA.
We recommend you troll at 6.5 - 7.5 knots for best results. Superstar add 1 1/2 oz. egg sinker and 1.0 oz. egg sinker to the Star. For faster trolling speeds more weight must be added for the lure to run correctly.
Use a #10/0 for the SuperStar and a #8/0 for the Star.
Star Marlin Lures were tested for 3 years by Captain Jerry Miller, with a total of 902 Marlin catches during that period and are in use world-wide today. 1st place San Carlos Billfish Tournament - 2001.
